April 2005 : Dr Christian Depeursinge has received the title of "Professeur titulaire". Congratulations, Christian !
February 2005 : Michael Sühling, Christian Jansen,
Muthuvel Arigovindan and Patrick Hunziker have been awarded the
prestigeous 2005 Pfizer Research Prize (Cardiovascular
System Area) for their work on "Computer Vision for Analysis of Medical
Images". The award ceremony will take place on February 4, 2005, at the
University Hospital in Zurich. Congratulations !!!
24th November 2004 : Seminar given by Prof. Antoine Labeyrie, on "Miroirs piégés par laser dans l'espace, et télescopes pour la vie sur des exo-Terres"
September 2004 : EPS Europhoton Conference : The European Physical Society and our Advanced Photonics Laboratory have jointly organized the EPS Europhoton Conference
June 2004 : Dr Yves Emery and Dr Etienne Cuche won the Prix Vigier for the Society Lyncée Tec, a start-up company founded by former collaborators of the Advanced Photonics Laboratory. January 2004 : Dr T. Blu and Prof. M. Unser received the Best Paper Award 2003 for their article "Wavelets, Fractals and Radial Basis Functions" published in the prestigious periodical IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing. Prof. Unser has also been appointed to the head of the technical committee for "Biomedical Imaging and Signal Processing" 2nd to 4th May 2003 : Open Days of the EPFL. January 2003 : Michael Unser started his term as new Editor-in-chief of the Wavelet Digest, the
electronic newsletter of the wavelet community, which has over 25'000
subscribers. Its website was completely re-designed by Dimitri Van de
Ville and is now hosted by the EPFL : http://www.wavelet.org/
